My name is Akram Hamam, but everyone calls me Akie.

I started my entrepreneurial journey at age 15, since the start I’ve had five companies and had many many different side-projects or so-called ‘side-hustles’.

This blog is to share all my (mostly) failures, things I’ve learned, learning along the way and things I’m proud of achieving.

Having immigrant parents has taught me many lessons about the difference between Arab and Dutch culture. Being raised in a Dutch society while loving where you came from showed me different perspectives of life and how things are being done in contradicting ways.

🤪 Fun Fact

Organised the first Nutella Festival in Amsterdam in 2016. It started off as a joke when I was high of a joint and craving for Nutella. Made the a banner, put it on facebook and also a landing page. Woke up to newspapers and radio’s calling me if it was true. Said it was true, didn’t have location. Got called up by the local permits for festivals officer asking me where I was going to do it, didn’t have a clue. Fixed a location and Nutella was about to sue me for using their name. Ended up calling it Festella and organising within 3 months
